SATURDAY, JULY 14   Go Bright Walk for St Clare Hospice, The Water Gardens, Harlow (10am-4pm). A 5km walk for all the whole family. 
The walk starts at 11am. The day includes free entry to a family-friendly festival of stalls, games and treats. 
Visitors can also remember someone who brightened up their life on the hospice's interactive Go Bright tree. 
Entry includes a pair of rainbow sweatbands to wear on the walk, and a Go Bright medal. Advanced entry costs 12 for adults (aged over 16) and 5 for children (aged 4-15) with children aged under three free. A family ticket (two adults and two children) costs 30 in advance. On the day entry costs 15 for adults, 7 for children and 40 for a family.

SUNDAY, JULY 15   De Merc Chamber Choir concert, St Mary Magdalene, Church Road (off Potter Street), Harlow (7pm). 
'Summer is Icumen' - A celebration of summer with music by Elgar, Stanford, Arensky, Tchaikovsky and some lighter items from the 1930s. Tickets priced 8 to include buffet supper and refreshments.

SATURDAY, JULY 21   Matching Farmers Market, Matching Village Hall, Matching Tye (10am-noon). Admission free. 
Various stalls selling meat, fish, bread, fruit and vegetables, woodwork, gifts.
Refreshments available.
     
SATURDAY, JULY 21 and SUNDAY, JULY 22   Parndon Mills Open Studios, off Elizabeth Way, Harlow (10am-5pm). Nearly all of the 30 studios will be open showing the diversity of artistic talent and skills nurtured at Parndon Mill. 
As well as painting and sculpture, crafts to be seen include ceramics, weaving, calligraphy, guitar making, jewellery, textiles, printing and metalwork. Glass blowing is particularly spectacular. 
There will also be an insight into architectural skills and the work of graphic and product designers. 
Many of the artists offer opportunities to 'have a go' and children of all ages can express themselves creatively in the Art Play Tent. 
Refreshments including homemade cakes and a barbecue will be available.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28   Autumn Firewalk, St Clare Hospice, Hastingwood Road, Hastingwood (3.30pm-6pm). A chance to take on a barefoot walk over red hot wood embers, smouldering at over 800 degrees Fahrenheit. 
Places are limited to 40.
Registration is 25 per person with participants asked to pledge to raise a minimum of 150 in sponsorship. Under-18s must have signed guardian permission to walk.
